The End of Legends

Is it just me or are there people dying at an earlier age than they should? Brittany Murphy after Heath Ledger last year.....and sometimes I half to remind myself that I now live in a world where Michael Jackson is not around anymore. It all seems so surreal! I didn't even follow Michael Jackson's career all that closely, but it just seems so wrong. I had an elderly person deep into his faith disregarded the sensitivity of his death and said, "Yeah, it's sad! "CAUSE HE'S IN HELL RIGHT NOW!" I don't know how many people (Christians) think like me....but no matter the fate of the King of Pop, I know he affected a lot of people, including me. I'm old enough to remember when I heard when the King of Rock 'n' Roll died and when John Lennon got shot and killed. I didn't know these people, but they were still people. I love that Elvis sang Gospel and ministered on the side to people. I have no idea where these other singers' hearts were at the time of death. But a world without such legends brings just as much heartache to the next person as it does to their families. As a Christian, I do tend to think of the fate of one who's example did or did not edify the glory of God...but it doesn't mean their death was any less meaningful. I think we need to be more sensitive. If I want regular folk to know my God cares for them, why should I represent Him by not caring about the death of someone, especially if He tried so hard to bring this person home to Him?
