In the 1950s, liking God was not viewed with a bewildered expression. That saying, "I'm not perfect, just forgiven" or "God isn't done with me yet" is so true. Sometimes I hear the most critical people, as though, without sin, they are allowed to throw the first stone. We need to be judges of evil, not of people. Hate the game, not the player. I sin. Not habitually. I don't make it a lifestyle to sin. I don't go looking for ways to get into trouble. It's a tough situation to be in, this Christian life. To be scrutinized for fallibility, but looked to for consolation. Sometimes soldiers get the same response these days. I see it in a different light, but Jesus light. Not an angel parading and pretending to be the light. The real, revealing, unblinding clear light.
